Where can I find directions?

Right here, that's where.  To get to L. E. Phillips Scout Reservation go northbound on I-94 into Milwaukee, form there take the 894 bypass north back to I-94 to avoid the downtown traffic.  Continue west until reaching Madison.  Be sure to turn north at the Madison interchange to go north on I-90-94, continue north until reaching Eau Claire.  Then you need to be alert and leave I-94 going north on Highway 53 to avoid entering the state of Minnesota since the scenery is pretty much the same in either direction.  After this turn it will be approximately 71 miles to camp.  The turn onto 53 will take you through Eau Claire and Chippewa Falls through to Haugen. Watch the left-hand turn off of the highway, it is not marked well for the exit to Haugen.  When passing through Haugen, make a left-hand turn onto county highway V, in town this changes over to county highway VV and enters the Camp.  Happy trails (by the way, it takes 6 1/2 hours to get there).

Why doesn't Troop 55 have a carpool?

Well, we do, but it isn't official.  If you wish to carpool, you need to plan in advance with a group of scouts, feel free to confer at Troop meetings.

Who is L. E. Phillips?

He left the BSA the land that makes up the camp and a multi-million dollar endowment to the camp that pays for its maintenance and semi-modern conveniences. FYI: His portrait is hanging in the dining hall.
